MHI Excellence in Manufactured Housing Awards

Annually MHI celebrates the industry’s success over the past year through the MHI Excellence in Manufactured Housing Awards! The MHI annual awards program honors those in the manufactured and modular housing industry who continue to pave the way by providing outstanding products, customer service, creative solutions, and state-of-the-art homes. Finalists enjoy industry-wide recognition and promotion of their work through a special announcement, as well as on MHI’s website, social media, and newsletter. Winners will be announced in May 2025, and all finalists will be included in the final awards announcements.

Awards Timeline

Awards submissions open: February 21
Submissions process closes: March 14
Judging Begins: March 19

Winners Notified: Late April

General Awards Information

All entries require a $150 entry fee in order to be considered.
You may make edits on your entry after submitting, up until the entry deadline of March 14.
Please make sure all your personal details are entered accurately, including contact details. The information on file is what we will use to notify entrants.
You are allowed to enter submissions into more than one category, as long as the work submitted meets the criteria.
If you are submitting multiple entries, you can use the 'copy' feature to create a copy of your entry. Just make sure to change the category and fields as applicable.
Entry fees may be paid by credit card only and must be paid online at time of completing submissions. If your submissions have not been paid for at close of entry they may not be included for judging.
For categories with an applicable east/west subcategory, refer to the map below.
Previous Entrants: If you submitted an award in 2021, 2022, 2023 or 2024, you do not need to create a new account. You can simply login with the same credentials as last year. If you forget your password, it can easily be reset on at manufacturedhousing.awardsplatform.com. Click the Forgot password link within the 'Log in' and follow the prompt.
New Users: Registering for an account is easy! Go to manufacturedhousing.awardsplatform.com, key in the required fields within the 'Register' column and click Register.

Leadership in Sustainability Award

The Leadership in Sustainability Award honors initiatives to reduce consumption of materials or energy. Examples of qualifying entries include manufacturing processes which reduce waste, office policies which conserve electricity, manufactured home community initiatives to encourage residents to reduce, reuse and recycle and appliances or supplies that reduce energy consumption.
- Describe your entry and describe how your entry supported sustainability.
- Quantify the savings of your initiative.

Community Impact Project of the Year Award

The Community Impact Project of the Year Award recognizes efforts by the manufactured housing industry to improve lives by addressing social or economic challenges at a local level. Eligible projects include company managed initiatives as well as company collaboration with existing, community-based nonprofit organizations or local government agencies. Submissions can include one-time initiatives or evergreen projects, but entries should detail company participation and community impact during 2024. Entries which include both employee volunteer time and company financial support will be given extra weight in voting. This category is open to all membership types. Note: Projects that are prior winners of this award are not eligible for consideration in this year’s contest. New projects by companies that won the award previously are welcome.

- What was the goal of the project? What community need did the project address?
- Describe the impact of the program.
- How many or what percentage of company employees participated in the project in 2024?
- Did the project include employee financial donations?
- Did the project include employee volunteer time?

Manufacturer of the Year Awards

Volume Manufacturer of the Year
- This award will be given to the entrant who produced the most HUD-code homes in 2024. Submit the total number of manufactured homes built along with the number of home building facilities that built manufactured homes in 2024. Information will be verified with using IBTS reports and other data sources. Additionally, please submit photos of your facility, processes and homes.
Small Volume Manufacturer of the Year – Three Plants or Less
- This category is for HUD-code builders who operate three plants or less. Manufacturers will be judged on notable achievements in producing manufactured housing during the past year. Please submit photos of your facility, processes and homes.

Retail Sales Center of the Year Awards

Retail Sales Center of the Year – East
- Tell us why you are the best manufactured home retailer in your half of the country. What programs, processes and improvements did you implement in 2024 to assist home buyers? Did you expand your inventory, redecorate your lot models and certify your entire team as Professional Housing Consultants? Quality photos are encouraged. Share all the details so our members can give you the recognition you deserve!
  - Is this a new retail sales center (built in the 2024 calendar year)?
  - What changes and improvements have been made to the sales center during the 2024 calendar year?
  - Describe unique features of this sales center and what makes it stand out.
Retail Sales Center of the Year – West
- Tell us why you are the best manufactured home retailer in your half of the country. What programs, processes and improvements did you implement in 2024 to assist home buyers? Did you expand your inventory, redecorate your lot models and certify your entire team as Professional Housing Consultants? Quality photos are encouraged. Land-Lease Community Awards

Community Operator of the Year
- This category is for multi-location community owners or operators. Tell us how your company improved the quality of life for residents and upgraded the work experience for your team members. Community operators will be judged on quality rather than quantity so please focus your comments on quality issues (occupancy rates, resident satisfaction scores, low resident turnover, team member satisfaction ratings, etc.) and share percentages rather than quantity.

Land-Lease Community of the Year – East
- Did your revamp your resident relations program, change the curb appeal with new signage and landscaping and have your on-site manager complete Accredited Community Manager certification? Communities will be judged on quality rather size. Please focus your comments on quality issues (occupancy rates, resident satisfaction scores, low resident turnover, etc.) and share percentages rather than quantity (number of sites, number of new homes installed, etc.). Photos of your property are highly encouraged.
  - Is this a new community (built in the 2024 calendar year)?
  - What changes and improvements have been made to the property during the 2024 calendar year?
  - Describe unique features of this land lease community and what makes it stand out.

Land-Lease Community of the Year – West

Supplier of the Year Award

The Supplier of the Year Award is open to wholesale and aftermarket industry suppliers and all other MHI supplier members. Tell the industry about the innovation that is expanding your market and supporting your industry customers. Suppliers will be judged on quality rather than quantity so please focus your comments on quality issues or innovation rather than quantity (number of locations or product lines, etc.). Photos of your processes, products, location and inventory are encouraged.

Lender of the Year Awards

Floor Plan Lender of the Year
- The Floor Plan Lender of the Year award will be given to the entrant who provided floor plan financing on the most manufactured homes in 2024. Please share the number of manufactured homes floored, the total dollar amount of floor plan financing used on manufactured homes in 2024 and the number of manufacturers you had floor plan agreements with last year. Additionally, were there programs, processes and improvements you implemented in 2024 to benefit your manufacturer or retailer partners?

Volume Lender of the Year
- This award will be given to the entrant who originated the most loans on HUD-code homes in 2024. Submit the number of loans originated on new and pre-owned manufactured homes and the total dollar amount originated on manufactured home loans in 2024. Information will be verified with HMDA data.

Lender of the Year – Regional
- If you are a retail lender licensed in 25 states or less this category is for you. Tell us why you are the best regional lender in the business! What programs, processes and improvements did you implement in 2024 to benefit manufactured home buyers? Share all the details so our members can give you the recognition you deserve!

Community Lender or Broker of the Year
- If you sell or finance manufactured housing communities this category is for you. Tell us why you are the best in the business! What programs, processes and improvements did you implement in 2024 to help your community customers? Share all the details so our members can give you the recognition you deserve!

Design Awards

Manufactured Home Design – Single Section
- Do you have a new single-section design that is attainable to everyone? Enter it here! A home entered in this category must meet the following criteria:
  - This model must have been built in at least one plant after January 1, 2024.
  - It must be built to HUD code.
  - Photos accompanying the description are required.
    - What is the total square footage of this home?
    - Which manufacturing plants built this model in 2024?

Manufactured Home Design – Multi-Section
- Show us your most innovative multi-section manufactured home! A home entered in this category must meet the following criteria:
  - This model must have been built in at least one plant after January 1, 2024.
  - Must be considered single family with 1 to 4 dwelling units.
  - It must be built to the HUD construction code.
  - Photos accompanying the description are required.
    - How many sections make up this home?
    - What is the total square footage of this home?
    - Which manufacturing plants built this model in 2024?

Manufactured Home Design – CrossMod
- If your home is eligible for MH Advantage or CHOICEHome financing programs this category is for you:
  - This model must have been built in at least one plant after January 1, 2024.
  - It must be built to the HUD construction code.
  - It must be built to be eligible for MH Advantage or CHOICEHome financing.
  - Photos accompanying the description are required.
    - How many sections make up this home?
    - What is the total square footage of this home?
    - Which manufacturing plants built this model in 2024?

Modular Housing Design Award
- A home entered in this category must meet the following criteria:
  - The modular housing project must have been built after January 1, 2024.
  - Which manufacturing plants built this model in 2024?
  - This can be single family or multifamily design.
  - Photographs of the home/project are required.
    - Which state or local building code is it built to?
